I'm not sure of calling Voltaire "a cool cat".. I unfortunately know too little to write an article about him and I'm not familiar with his work "Candide" (which is mentioned in this article) but I suggest some serious changes. Maybe something along these lines would be OK as a start:

"Voltaire (actually François-Marie Arouet, 21 November 1694 – 30 May 1778) was a French writer and philosopher. He was a well-known representative of the Age of Enlightenment and he was a critic of the Catholic Church dogma and the French institutions of his day. Along with other Enlightenment figures, such as Jean-Jaques Rousseau, he influenced important thinkers of both the American and French Revolutions."


(I'd delete this article but I think that we should have one about Voltaire, so I left it for now..)
