Concerning the image dealing with Hitler, there is debate in whether or not he was a god-fearing person or not. In his book and a few of his speeches, he made a reference to god, but there are allegedly stories where the people who knew him behind the public scenes claim that he abhorred all religions and felt that the only use for religion could not coexist with his goals.

The image dealing with Hitler could be argued against relatively easily, when referencing reports from those who were closest to him. While it raises the question as to why he would mention religion, then, if he felt it was such a bad thing, one can bring up that he used it only as a source of deception.

Really, it would boil down to whether a person wanted to believe what he wrote and said in public (pro-religion) or what he is alleged to have felt in private (anti-religion). Honestly, I'm not sure that the Hitler image is a good one to keep around.

This discussion is pointless unless you can cite references for these supposed statements on the part of Hitler relating to his abhorrence of religion. Even so, it's likely moot, because he certainly exploited religion to achieve his goals. --Ark 23:24, 27 August 2007 (CDT)

Indeed. Whatever religious beliefs Hitler may or may not have had, the relevant issue is that the Germans believed he was Christian, and his use of Christian imagery and language played a significant role in his gaining their loyalty Paper Hand 20:35, 26 November 2008 (CST)
