Christians are fond of saying "God is Love" and then when you point out scripture, they backpedal and say, "Oh well, that was the old testament. Jesus came and made a new covenant." So Jesus is God 2.0. New. Improve and even more loving. Let's take a look at scripture that demonstrates "Jesus' love."

Contents

Jesus isn't about peace; he comes with a sword

- Matthew 10:34-39:

"Do not think that I came to bring peace on the earth; I did not come to bring peace, but a sword. For I came to set a man against his father, and a daughter against her mother, and a daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; and a man’s enemies will be the members of his household. He who loves father or mother more than Me is not worthy of Me; and he who loves son or daughter more than Me is not worthy of Me. And he who does not take his cross and follow after Me is not worthy of Me. He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has lost his life for My sake will find it." NASB

Jesus will return and anyone who offends him will be burned alive

- Matthew 13:41-42:
The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.

Jesus wants people who have much hatred in their hearts

- Luke 14:26:

"If anyone comes to Me, and does not hate his own father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters, yes, and even his own life, he cannot be My disciple." NASB
